That’s one bigly big ladder.

6-feet off the ground you need fall restraint. That ladder is NSFW.

Not only is it impressively tall, imagine how expensive that was

Did you try it out..?

Really ties the room together dude.

Yikes. Also see: 126 lbs

I legit need that. I’ve heard the cost of ladders above a certain height increase drastically because they have to build the cost of liability insurance into the price.

Nice uhhh...fireplace?

Ugh. The gym in the church where I went for scout meetings as a kid had these old light fixtures in the ceiling and the lights would burn out all the time. They kept an old wooden A-frame ladder along the far wall to change them. The dam thing was a good 25 feet tall and swayed like a buoy in a tropical storm. I think that one ladder is why I hate ladders

Endangering children’s lives for a lightbulb in a house of God... there’s some irony in there somewhere. Or a Tower of Babel reference.

No no, we kids weren’t allowed on the ladder, the church janitor did the work. But we watched it enough times, and it never stopped being terrifying

Tower of Babel reference hangs on by a thread, then!

And heavy. And unwieldy to move. And shakey.

I think that one is smaller? I count 19 steps for the one in the picture, and 17 for the Home Depot one. Unless I can’t count, which is a possibility.

Seriously, that thing won’t even fit on a normal work truck/van without a big overhang.
![]() 01/16/2018 at 19:31 |

Nope. 2 tall 4 me.
![]() 01/16/2018 at 19:45 |

Huh. You’re right. So... 20ft rated probably.... Here we go! I was thinking the price seemed a bit low for a fiberglass step of that size

Knee-jerk reaction: it’s gonna SUCK getting >that< back on top of the van! I regularly haul around & perch on 10&12-footers, and that’s as big as I care to mess with in a step ladder.
We had one at the theater that was an A-frame with extendable vertical center section. 18'? I dunno, but it was scary

One of my first jobs involved one of these:
I hated the thing.

Hmmm. Kinjaaaaaa! Let’s try that again...

That’s a big ladder. Ever use an A-frame extension ladder?

No, but I wish to subscribe to this newsletter

The extension sticks up 12 feet above the top of the A frame. Then, you climb the extension, throw a leg over the top, and sit on the top of the extension.
For extra syle points, the whole rig is on a dolly so you can get moved around without having to come down the ladder.

I was going to post this. This thing puckered me so much I turned inside out. I was 18 and had to climb it the drill into concrete above my head.. By 19 I was doing IT work so in a way that thing saved my life while threatening it.

Wow - that’s even taller than the one I had to use.
I hung two of these big chandeliers from a giant 14' ladder like that one last summer. I almost killed myself AND my 11 year-old daughter.
I’m not even close to being afraid of heights - which might be why I even attempted this myself. That was some scary acrobatics for a few minutes there.
